Over the last 12 months I have been sketching to remain 'present' in the here and now rather than focusing on any worries that I may encounter. I have found that my sketching has developed over this time, certainly helped by attending an art class.
I have also begun to explore the skill of watercolour painting, often termed one of the hardest painting skills to master. I am enjoying the challenge and am adapting my style each week. I thought my style was relaxed but recently an artist friend stated that my work was very precise. What do you think?
I love abstract painting but not really sure how to do this , so sought some advice. Watch this space!
Ps my preferred medium is pencil and pastels but I so love a challenge .
I did some art classes in Northern Ireland with a watercolour artist he used a wet on wet technique which allowed fluidity and you had to let go of controlling where the paint went. I more recently used india ink with a stick then added annilinky watercolour paints - very vibrant colours. I enjoy the freedom of letting the colour move where it needs to be.
Welcome @susanwearne2 and @Joanna what is your creative story?
@kwellsmcculloch what is your creative story?
Thank you for sharing Hazel - creativity is something that we can all gain freedom with.
