In 1998 I completed my ENB (English National Board) 998 Teaching and Assessing qualification. I was a E grade nurse at the time, part of the registered nurses role is to teach and share information. I regularly supported student nurses and ODP’s, junior doctors and new members of staff. I updated my teaching qualifications to include NVQ Assessments and Teaching and Learning in Adult Education. In 2015 I was awarded PGCE Teaching and Assessing in Higher Education, I incorporated Teaching English as a Second Language in my portfolio. This allowed me to bring a range of experiences and styles to the classroom. In 2015 I was engaged to teach at Plymouth University as an associate lecturer to support building my portfolio, in 2020 I commenced full-time employment as a adult nurse lecturer in undergraduate and post graduate studies.

I combine my coaching experience and skills to adapt my teaching to support the learners and their needs. I enjoy sharing knowledge and encourage healthy debates in the classroom to help learners explore what they have learnt.

Exploring Health Options

What can you do to support making health choices. I will facilitate a small group workshop where we can discuss alternative health options and how to make sense of the information that we see.
