How do you feel about the word clarity? Why can terminology be a barrier to us learning about something that we would really enjoy or gain benefits from? I often here complaints about the word clarity. It means to see clearly. In coaching conversations there might be a frazzled moment where the client is overwhelmed. The coaches role is to provide the place of calm and reflection to guide the client to identify and remove the barriers.

When in a Position of Overwhelm Stop and Breathe

Sometimes I would be rushing so much I would fudge what I was doing and end up having to do it again. I asked a colleague what am I getting wrong here, and they said if it feels like it is all going to fast take a moment and step back, breathe and then go in at a steady pace.

The Physiology of Allowing Ourselves Space

If you consider this from a breathing point of view – when we start to shallow breathe through anxiety or stress we are taking in more oxygen and not keeping much of the carbon dioxide that regulates respiration and then we become lightheaded. We might feel tingly as our circulation changes in response to the increased heart rate, this might cause us to drop things. Its about keeping the balance right the harmony of how our body likes to work. If we align ourselves with what our body needs our body will perform better. Optimal circulation will also improve optimal brain function.

Body and Brain in Harmony and Balance

Supporting ourselves to regain balance and harmony between our body and brain allows us to view tasks and life differently. It allows us to stop and watch the clouds form amazing shapes and take notice of rainbows forming. It also can help us problem solve from a place of calm.
